Postby budnc6721 on Thu Jul 01, 2010 8:55 pm

Aight guys I am looking to to a cheap wheel for gt5 when it comes out in nov. I have never played a racing game with a wheel and was wondering if anyone around here has used this an can let me know if its any good before I buy it.

I've been using the Driving Force Pro for several years and I love it. I'm hoping it holds out long enough to use with GT5.

I'd say the wireless one would be a pretty similar experience as the DFP, and as such, I would highly recommend it. I'll never play a racing game without a wheel again.

Hmm...
I've mentally committed to getting a wheel for GT5 and have looked at the Driving Force.
One thing I've often wondered about peripherals (since I don't buy very many) is are the higher-end ones really "worth" it? I mean do the "low" end ones work the same but with a worse package or is there something essential that the near $250 wheel that much "better?"
I'm definitely a casual guy so the Driving Force would probably be good enough for me, but I wonder if the other one's performance justifies the price.

Well I am really looking at the wireless and the GT from logitec. The only problem I run into is space and something to mount the wheel to. Thats the whole reason I am leaning toward/asking about the wireless.

Update

I ended up picking up a Driving Force GT off ebay today...I have a little more than 90 days to practice on prologue before I get GT5.
