New FFPW Patch

How in the hell did you do it? How did you get the green color? I tought only default colors worked when doing that type of thing.

Hi All,

I'm working on my patch on and off. I've decided to restart the Dojo stuff as most of it is glitched. I'm translating and testing line by line to make sure I get something half good, it's not high on my to do list but it would be nice to have it done.

My contest is over now. Only one response, CactusJ00 wins... Create an edit to replace the defaults in Dojo Mode. If you didn't spot it, I replaced the defaults with:

Trainee - Generic black guy
Trainer 1 - The Hulk
Trainer 2 - Skeletor
Trainer 3 - Me (My current wrestling gear ego)

I've also added a couple more costumes to the recostume patch. I've also changed some of the move names and a couple of nicknames for the default wrestlers.

Quick update. I've methodically gone from NJPW to FMW recostuming everyone who still has a street-gear attire. For these I've either selected a missing attire used in FPW1 or I've given them a current one (e.g. Mohammed Yone without an Afro )

Stuck all of the free agents in the correct free region. This will mess up when you play through and there are new free agents. But it will be fairly tidy at the start anyway

I just wanted to say a big thank you for this Tiger. After getting fucked over by dvd.it and not receiving my Fire Pro R for PS2, I'm having to look elsewhere for my Fire Pro fix, and this looks like it will do the job perfectly. Can't wait to try it out

I'm playing it on DS atm so I usually go to the toilets and get a few minutes in. However, I got in to this awesome run-through as AJPW and was away for 45 minutes. I used IBS as an excuse (Which is half true) and no one has questioned me since.

More fixing on MOR though. Just tidying bits mostly, not found any untranslated messages. If anyone finds any, or something that's broken, please let me know and post a screenie

EDIT: One bug I stumbled on, if you use the Stat Update patch and view Jushin Ligers details in MOR mode (L button) you get a glitchy screen. I'll look into what's causing this but I imagine it will be directly related to his attack stats

I think I am up to about 60 defaults replaced and I don't have any glitches with the stats.




I just posted the guide on the wiki. Let me know if it is clear. Once you do a few it becomes extremely easy. I can zip through a replacement very quick. Changing the colors still takes a little more time .

Colours are a big pain.

I managed to figure out how to change moves but my way is very slow. I swapped Kenta Kobashi's finisher from the lariat to the Burning Hammer. Not posted anything on the wiki for a while but I'm off work for a month after today I'll post the recostume stuff there and then I think we should have enough to share.

I think I can replace the stats, moves, logic, ect. in less than 2 min. at this point. Once you do a few it's cake.

the color stuff is a pain for me just because I have to go back and figure out what colors I used (I guess I should keep track as I'm making the edits). I printed out a chart of all the hex values which has helped a lot.

Is that a list of hex values and the colour? I bet that was a few pages. I did think about doing something in a spreadsheet, but I think the conditional formatting wouldn't be able to cope.

My suggestion is to create a spreadsheet, the top line being decimal and the line below being:
=dec2hex(A1)
Or whatever the cell value is, because I was forever loading the calculator and doing it in that, which seemed to slow me down.

I've not really done any stat or moveset editing, my PS2 is boxed because I'm moving next week But once I'm unpacked, I have about 3 weeks off so I'll post something before the end of August. I'm still fixing odds and ends in MOR though and I'm really enjoying playing it.

I always seem to start with UFO in Stoic:
1. It's easy
2. You unlock loads of MMA guys
3. You might get Inoki (I think you may need to be Strong Style but I have no clue with unlocking really)

I just try to get as many guys that have CRITICAL strikes or technical, then just A&B strike whoever to death. Mitsuhiro Matsunaga isn't bad in MMA, he always seems to get signed to RINGS or somewhere similar, but he's no Vader.

The entire color system of FFPW is just a mess though. The blue color you want for costume 2 is in a different place for costume 3 and may not even exist for costume 4.

Frustrating!

I finished my season through as UFO. I unlocked the Gracie family in the process. When I restarted as UFO on the same save, the Gracie family vanished!

I've loaded MOR with unedited version of the ROM with the same save and the Gracies DON'T APPEAR! Rickson is still down as the Stoic champion, but you need to unlock him again to get this.

I've checked through the MOR stats for my save with him unlocked, one without and the actual game stats. I've changed the stats on the ROM so they'd appear in NJPW by default. With the unlocked save, they didn't appear.

There are other unlockables that this happens with:
K-1
Legends Promotion

Once you unlock them, they vanish at the end of MOR and you will need to meet the criteria again to unlock them for MOR.

They're all unlocked for Exhibition and Edit mode. I've tried comparing various save files and can't work out where the value is stored.

What I think it is, there is a boolean value saying whether the wrestler is in the current MOR game. This will be stored on the save and is changed to true one you've unlocked them.

There will be code to change this "true" boolean to a false when you start a new MOR. Locking the wrestler from being booked until you unlock them again. My guess is there is also another boolean state that sets whether you can access them in other modes once you've unlocked them. This would be set to "true" but won't be reverted to false, ever.

My knowledge of machine code isn't great, does anyone else have any ideas with this? I would like to be able to set the Gracies, K-1 and Legends up as Free agents, or atleast so you can book them on a one show basis (e.g. Specials).

Also, fixed typos here and there. I won't list them, they're pretty small.

That would be nice but how would it work? you could book them only after they were unlocked?
