Stage 6 is the most recent version.

It only works if you have the Japanese version of the game and a modified PS2. If you only own Agetec's version of FPR, you don't need to download it.

I have a save made in prior stages of the translation...it would still work?
Because I already created too many things to throw them away >_<!!!

Using a game save from a prior version of the patch will work mostly fine, but there will be a few oddities. Seeral moves have their name linked to the wrestler's name, which leads to some problems. Delfin was mispelled in the prior patches ("Delphin"), so moves linked to his name (Delfin Backbreaker) will be mispelled (because the name data was saved using an earlier version of the patch) unless you renamed the Delfin default to the correct name. Additionally, some move names are linked to the wrestler's name, but linked to the wrong portion of the name. So you're going to see "Osamu Cluch" instead of "Kido Clutch", "AJ Clash" instead of "Styles Clash".

You don't really need to start over, though. I did. Most of the work was recreating all my created factions and stables. Copying edits and logos and recreating rings, refs, and belts was fairly easy. The patch will still work 99% correctly if you don't start over with it.

I applied stage6 and...I was wondering...do i need to apply all the other stages in order to get what was translated in them? Or Stage 6 includes all the contents of the patches prior this last update?
I'm asking this because i've just burned the game with only stage6 applied...and i already lightscribed the dvd and all and...you know...I'm feeling a bit stupid right now...XD

You only need to apply stage 6. It incorporates everything that was in previous versions of the patch.

Should I just pick up the English version at this point? I don't have a flip top anymore, this model of Ps2 (I've went through 4) doesn't fit. So in the past I just burned the original FPR with my burner directly on my computer's hard drive where I patched the ISO and then burned that to the Ps2 HDD. It's a rather involved process, going to write a FAQ on it on day for people without modded Ps2s. Anyway, the question is....does it make more sense given the last patch I used was like stage 3 or something, to pick up the US version? Or does that me unable to use the original save files.... >_>.

You'd have to convert edit packs using PS2 Save Builder, but that's rather quick and easy.

Most of the bigger saves are converted already, get the american version. Not as good but it's a lot easier than what you're gonna have to do to get the patched version working.

I got it, haven't had time to go through it, but what's missing?

Yeah, it's gone. I haven't talked to Joe for about a year, but, last time I did, he seemed to have moved on from Fire Pro and didn't have time to work on Stage 7 of the patch. It's quite possible that the website is gone for good.

(Don't know this for a fact, though. It could simply be a service interruption.)

Can you email me the patch and whatever you have so I can get it hosted? I'll send joe a message (if possible, email should still be the same...if I still have it...) and see about permission to do so. He didn't want it here because that took away from his own site but now I hope everyone realizes why I wanted it hosted in both spots. One is gone, one is still here.

I still have the patch in various stages in you need it, just let me know.

although, with the thing in english, i don't see what the relevance is anymore. i remember feeling so bad for joe, after his awesome patches were made (which got me back into fire pro three years ago), the english version came out. what were the chances of that happening?

I still play the patched version. I think a number of other people do also. Joe's stage 6 patch - which came out at about the same time as the US version was downloaded about 400 times, last I checked.

I've got whatever is needed. I already talked to MDK about it, so I'll probably be the one e-mailing him whatever he needs.

FYI: I sent MDK the latest version of the patch, so he'll probably repost it after he gets permission from Joe.

I still play FPR with Joe's patch. It's the only version of the game I play since I have no intent on playing the US version due to (imo) the ridiculous translations and changes in the game.

I quit playing my patched version once the US came out. It is badly translated at spots, but its not THAT bad, and I don't have to use Swap Magic to boot it.

Is this patch still available anywhere? I just dragged my ps2 out of the closet to play some Firepro, but my old patched game (i think it was stage 3) didn't quite survive. Yes, I tried the links in the stickies.

I'm not sure if this is relevant in this thread, but the general idea is. Would anyone be able to explain to me, if it is allowed, how to make a patch for a game? :?: I have occasional free time, and really want a friend to play koc ii, but the only way he will is if there is a patch for it. Knowing basic Japanese, and studying it in college, I figure that, if it is not incredibly difficult, I would like to try to make a patch for it...

Thanks for any feedback, and I wish I logged into websites more, but I'm always to lazy to submit my info each time, ...

First question: do you have enough programming know-how that you could make a good living at it? If the answer is no, there doesn't really need to be a second question.

Knowing Japanese is probably one of the least important concerns.
