Best of 7 Series Tournament: SEE WHO'S IN IT

Postby ScottyShowman on Sun Jun 24, 2012 3:41 pm

I like best of 7 series. Coming off the NHL and NBA playoffs I'm in the mood to watch these type of matches on FPW. It's a shame they don't do them too often in pro wrestling because I think it is a way to build great drama. I'm kind of ripping off a Fantasy Tournment that appears in Pro Wrestling Illustrated and it's sister magazines that had wrestlers compete in rounds of best of 7 series contests until one man was left standing. I have 8 wrestlers in my tourment from different eras on my roster.

THE FIRST ROUND MATCH UPS LOOK AS FOLLOWS:

Sting (1988)
vs
Rey Mysterio (1996)

WHY? -I had these guys fighting in on teams in an 8 on 8 match and I'm like wow if both these guys faught each other in their prime what a great exciting match that would be.

Dolph Ziggler (current)
vs
Billy Gunn (1999)

WHY?-I need a representative of today and Dolph is really heating up lately, he's fun to watch and my Billy Gunn is a great mod. These two get compared a lot so if someone has to fight Dolph let's give it to MR. ASS!

Billy Kidman (1997, after he got cleaned up lol)
vs
Scott Steiner (1991, Before his Big Poppa Pump days, when he would do that sweet, Standing Frankensteiner)

WHY?-Honestly, my Billy Kidman mod turned out good and I wanted to see how he's do in this format, and I wanted that classic Scott Steiner in this tournament cause the guy can do anything and everyone was taken lol.

Hulk Hogan (Wrestlemania 6)
vs
Ultimate Warrior (Wrestlemania 6)

WHY?- HULK /WARRIOR FROM MY FAVOURITE MATCH, DOING IT BEST OF 7 STYLE.

First round opening matches results will be posted tomorrow @ 8:30pm Eastern Time
and everyday after that.

Predictions, thoughts and are much appreciated. Have a good week!

OPENING MATCHES

Sting vs Rey Mysterio

This match started off pretty back and forth. Sting started to take advantage of the match after getting the young Mysterio is the corner and delivering a reverse tornado DDT on Mysterio. Sting did not go easy on Mysterio as faught a very physical style as if he was fighting Vader back in the day in classic WCW. It was a total onslaught to the face of Rey Mysterio. I swear Sting must have hit like 10 DDTs in the whole match and at least 3 punch combos. He even did that one animation where he pretty much bitch slapped Rey Mysterio to the ground, like he owed him money from a poker game. Mysterio was very resilent tossing Sting into the ropes and hitting a hurricanrana but Sting kicked out at 1, showing that the cruiserweight had nothing on him. Mysterio was tenacious with the hurrincanrana but only getting a near fall on Sting. The man with the facepaint was merciless against the young luchador picking him up and samoa dropping him on the edge of the ring apron(cause you know that really smarts) sending Mysterio tumbling to the floor. And in an exciting moment for me, (because this rarely happen in my game) Sting bounced off the oppositie side of the roped and did a plancha right into Mysterio. They scuffled out there for a while and Sting hit yet another DDT on the cold blue flooring outside, which must have surely cracked the skull of Mysterio beneath his colourful red mask. The finish came when Sting slyly rolled himself back into the ring as Earl Hebner must have had too many Red Bulls that morning as he furiously counted Mysterio out with the 20 as Mysterio got to his feet.

Your winner: Sting via Count @ 22min 35sec.

Sting leads Best of 7 Series 1-0.

Dolph Zigger vs Billy Gunn

As I watched this match you could really tell the difference between two men who people find so similar in looks and style. Billy Gunn was more athletic hitting moves like an enziguri while Ziggler was more wrestling based using a lot weardown holds and throws like the fire man's carry. Billy Gunn wasn't afraid to show off his strength with some massive clotheslines, powerslams and channeled his inner Goldberg a few times with at least 3 jackhammers in the match. Ziggler would not give up as he sticked his grounding wrestling game plan with a few sleepers and using the one legged boston grab on more than one occasion. "Mr. Ass" attempted to out show "The Showoff" as he prepelled Ziggler into the ropes and press slammed him to ground and then taunted him as he patted on his ass. Ironically Ziggler would get the last laugh as hit Gunn with a move Gunn had used many times in the match with less success as Ziggler hit Gunn with a devasting running clothesline for the pin.

Your winner: Ziggler with a pinfall after a clothes @ 29min 01sec.

Ziggler leads Best of 7 Series 1-0.

Billy Kidman vs Scott Steiner

This was a highly competive match. You'd think that young Steiner who has a huge strength advantage and is a very good all around athlete would have the advantage but Kidman stayed with him every step of the way. Steiner did not take it easy on Kidman, pulling off two standing Frankensteiners in the match and well as the classic throw him to the ropes version but Kidman would not stay down. Kidman was so resilent he even popped out of the always disgusting looking whether of TV or in a video game Steiner Screwdriver standing suplex into a piledriver. Kidman was indeed tenacios, with a number of enzuris to the back of the head and pulled off a number of Sky High like powerbowmbs. Sky High #3 was the lucky number for Kidman as it did Steiner in, with a suprising finish at only 16- 07.

Your winner: Kidman with Sky High powerbomb pin at 16min and 7 seconds.

Kidman leads the Best of 7 Series 1-0.

Hulk Hogan vs The Ultimate Warrior

Warrior looked to get a quick advantage by slamming Hogan to the floor and doing a fast running splash but Hogan was able to continue. There was also a ref bump in the early on as Hogan threw the Warrior into Earl Hebner. These two were not messing around. They tested their strength and muscle against muscle in this clash as well and traded body slams. Warrior was arrogant after one slam as he tried to win Hogan with his foot but Hogan kicked out really fast. That must have angered Hogan as he went on a tear. Big closed fists met Warrior's skull. Hogan chucked Warrior into the ropes and clobbered him with a clothesline. He did a second time you would have thought it would have been a super duper double clothesline, but Hogan made sure only Warrior went down. Warrior tried to come back with a running flying shoulder block but Hogan ducked it. Hulk went to places he had never went before as he climbed the top ropes and connected with a Leg drop YES OFF THE TOP ROPES (more than once I might add). One time he even picked up the Warrior and looked around the crowd to feel the excitement, TO FEEL THE POWER BROTHER. At the conclusion of the match Hulk was having a lot of fun taunting as he threw Warrior to he ropes backbody dropped him stomped on his stomach and pinned him for sweet revenge to their epic encounter Wrestlemania 6.

Your winner: Hulk Hogan after a stomp to the gut at 11min 34 sec.

Hogan leads Best of 7 Series 1-0.

Sting vs Rey Mysterio- Match 2

Sting leads best of 7 series 1-0

Rey Mysterio comes out with a vengeance in this bout. Almost like he did have a sense of urgency.
He'd hit two quick moves and just when you think he was getting momentum Sting would hit him with a suplex or punch combo to ruin his flow. Shades of the first match Sting would once again got
Mysterio in the corner and deliver the Reverse Tornado DDT. And then hit Mysterio with a suplex and a
pin but Mysterio would kick out. From this point it was a great back and forth contest. Mysterio would
not give on the hurricanrana as he tried for a standing one into a pin and Sting would kick out at 2. He
would then toss Sting into the ropes for another hurricanrana pin only for Sting to kick out at 2 once
more. I was actually getting really into this match, as Mysterio was more competive in this encounter.
There was a nice sequence of reversals where Mysterio picked up Sting from behind only for Sting to
go behind Rey and Rey jumped up on Sting's back spins around on his shoulders and give him yet
another hurricanrana pin. Sting suplexed Rey Mysterio to outside and again goes for Suicide Dive
(which I marked out for again) this one was a bit more crazy because Mysterio did not look like he was
going to get up in time to get caught by it. As Earl Hebner did his speed count I was concerned that
this would be another countout. Suplex on the floor by Sting, drop toe hold on the floor by Mysterio,
perhaps Mysterio would pull it out. DDT by Sting on floor as he rolled in at 18. Mysterio gets up and
was dizzy to come out short in a countout loss in a match that was much better than the first.

Your winner: Sting by Countout at 22min 35sec

Sting leads Best of 7 Series 2-0.

----

Dolph Ziggler vs Billy Gunn

Match 2

Ziggler leads Best of 7 Series 1-0

This match was really a tale of Billy Gunn's strength and athletism vs Dolph Ziggler's wrestling ability.
Mr. Ass game out strong with a suplex and body slam that was pretty much a pick up of Dolph and a
chuck to the outside. (Also to make sure we didn't have any quick counts like we had in the
Sting/Mysterio matches, Earl Hebner was replaced by FPW Default Ref Joe, who is great cause
everything he is consistent and steady.) Gunn would hit a Jack Hammer and then an Enziguri and next
thing you know Ziggler would have him in an abdominal stretch. Dolph was great on at grounding Gunn
as he had him in tight head locks in more than one occasion in the match. There was a sequence that
saw Gunn hit a Jackhammer ala Goldberg and Ziggler just popped up and hit a version of the Zig Zig.
There was also a point the match where Gunn had the upper hand and did "Kiss my ass" taunt and
Ziggler quickly rolled him up for a near fall. In the end wrestling alibity won out over flash as Ziggler
made Gunn tapp to a single leg boston grab.

Your winner: Dolph Ziggler @ 24min 07sec

Ziggler leads Best of 7 Series 2-0
---

Billy Kidman vs Scott Steiner

Kidman leads Best of 7 Series 1-0

Match 2

Billy Kidman opened the match with 2 arm drags ala Ricky Steamboat. Kidman was pretty fierce
throughout the majority of match, setting the pace. Even at some points trying to embarass Steiner
with his own version of the classic Frankensteiner. Kidman actually had Steiner on the floor and went to the top rope. And I knew he was going for that Shooting Star Press and he glided his way over the ring on to Scott and oddly enough the first man to his feet was Steiner. And when Kidman got up he was greeted by a Standing Frankensteiner. But no matter what Steiner did Kidman would always get back in it. There was some revenge that happened when Steiner got his version of the classic of the ropes Franksteiner on Kidman and even hit 2 Screwdrivers-Suplex-into-Piledriver manevers but Kidman was resilent some how always getting upper hand. One part of the match it appear that Scotty Steiner had enough as he would man handle Kidman with stiff looking pump handle slams to the mat and over the top belly to belly suplexes. However, once again Kidman would hit an enzuriguri and get back in there. Steiner was desperate and when he had his back against the turnbuckle literally chucked Kidman over his head over the ring post, sending Kidman's limp body to tumbling to outside floor. But Kidman must have taken his vitamins that day because soon he found himself on the better side of camel clutch making the muscle pound Steiner tap.

Your winner: Billy Kidman

Kidman leads Best of 7 Series 2-0.
---

Hulk Hogan vs The Ultimate Warrior

Hogan leads the Best of & Series 1-0

Match 2

If you're an Utimate Warrior fan you would have enjoyed the first half of this match because it was
pure Warrior. Lots of Warrior running splashing and Military Press slams galore. Warrior came out
like he knew he gave up the opening match in the series, as he was very aggressive. Hogan took the punishment and rallied back with great wind up punches to the head and devasting large arm
clotheslines that would have made JBL take notice. This really seemed like a fight that no guy wanted
to lose as they battled back forth for a long time. There was actually a sequence in the match that was
strangely familar to their Ultimate Clash in the Skydome as Warrior pressed Hogan threw him to the
mat, bounced off the ropes and did a splash pin, but on this occasion Hogan kicked out at 2.
After lots of clotheslines, taunts for the fans approval and taunts to Warrior's spirits it was a bearhug
pulled out by the Warrior that did Hogan in at the near 40 min mark.

The Winner: The Ultimate Warrior at 39min 40sec

The Best of 7 series is tied 1-1.

Sting vs Rey Mysterio

Match 3

Sting leads Best of 7 Series 2-0.

The match opens in competive fashion with both men trying to get the advantage. It was funny each guy would pull off a takedown, or arm drag after quick spirts and back up like an old school ECW match. Sting got the advantage once again with a move that has been very handy for him, the reverse Tornado DDT out of the corner. He followed it up with a inverted atomic drop and running bull dog. But Mysterio would fight out of it. Rey would use his hurricanranas, jumping neck breaker and quick role ups to combat's Sting offence. There were a couple of firsts in this match. Rey was really building momentum and went outside of ring apron for a exciting spring board hurricanrana for a 2. Rey would also throw Sting into the corner, and the game has this very cool animation where Rey would run into Sting, Sting would catch him and propel him over his head onto the ropes and Rey would jump back with a hurricanarana. It seems like Mysterio was bringing out all his tricks to get on the board against Sting. Sting would always kick out. It appeared to be shades of the first two matches as Sting suplexed Mysterio to outside on two occasions. I don't know if it was new Ref Joe with the slow count, but Sting did not dive out of the ring at any time during this encounter. If Sting wanted to get the win he would have to in the ring. Which he did at the 26min mark with the Scorpian Death Lock as Mysterio gave up after a very exciting contest.

The Winner: Sting @ 26min 02sec

Sting leads Best of 7 Series 3-0.

----

Dolph Zigger vs Billy Gunn

Match 3

Ziggler leads Best of 7 Series 2-0

Unfortunately for one of these atheletic blondes it seemed like he could never quite get on pace. Many parts of the match he oddly enough looked like a jobber againstthe more dominant fighter. This one fighter just seemed like he could never spring more than a few moves together enough to keep his opponent down, while his oppenent was very effective with numerous neckbreakers, and always seemed to turn the tide when any build of momemtum was made. Billy Gunn eventually feel in for "Hey my name is Dolph Ziggler" arm bar and tapped at the nearly 20min mark.

The Winner: Dolph Ziggler at 19min 50sec

Ziggler leads the Best of 7 Series 3-0.

---

Billy Kidman vs Scott Steiner

Match 3

Kidman leads Best of 7 Series 2-0.

This match was a story of one man who was really hot and eager to win in Billy Kidman and another man in Scott Steiner doing whatever he could to stone wall that momentum.Kidman came out on fire with the arm drags. It seemed no matter what Steiner did Kidman was on top of him. Kidman sent Steiner tumbling to outside and did give chase. And just like on TV when Kidman came back into the ring after his opponent Steiner did pounce on him with an attack. But Kidman would find a way to get back in the match. There
was a dueling contest of Frankensteiners for a bit as Scott would throw Kidman into the ropes for the classic Frankensteiner and he would connect. Kidman would then get up and do a standing version of the move Steiner made famous. Steiner would answer with another animation of the move with Scott raisinghis hand as to grasp victory but it was only for a 2. Steiner connected with a beautiful Frankensteiner after jumping off the top ropes but again it was only for 2. Steiner would turn on the power with 2 Screwdriver-suplex-to piledrivers in this match, a stiff pump handleslam and an over the top belly to belly suplex. Kidman would hop up hit another standing Frankensteiner, hop to the top ropes for a beautiful shooting star press pinning combination for 2. After a very scrappy back and forth Kidman would again find himself in a move that got him a previous victory, the camel clutch and it would prove successful yet again.

The Winner: Billy Kidman with a Camel Clutch at 23min 51sec

Kidman leads Best of 7 Series 3-0.

--

Hulk Hogan vs the Ultimate Warrior

Match 3

The Series is Tied 1-1.

The match started off a stand off. Hogan bodyslam on Warrior. Warrior bodyslam on Hogan. And then it was like something went off in the Warrior's head. And the facepainted bruiser went on a tear. Suplex to the ground, a running splash, followed by a quick body splash. Press slams galore, and stalled suplexes holding letting the blood rush to Hogan's head. It looked like Warrior was going to break the tie of matches easy but then just as Hogan has done so many times before, there was a miraculous comeback. All of sudden punches to the head, a suplex, followed by an inverted atomic drop. Hogan would then pick up the Warrior and hurl him over the top topes onto the ramp. Warrior would just stand there huffing and puffing for like 6 solid seconds, at first I thought it was a glitch but Warrior was really doing was getting his second wind as he knew the power of Hulkamania was upon him. Warrior would get back into the ring and very uncharacterisically throw Hogan to the outside. But Hogan would come back in, and then something odd happened. As much
as Hogan laid in on the Warrior, the man from Parts Unknown would not stay down. Hogan bodyslammed Warrior to the ground and hit 2 leg drops on him, but Warrior would get up with a no sell. Hogan would hit one big punch to the head, and then another but Warrior would then come back with a clothesline that nearly took off Hogan head. Warrior would not too long after that connect with this very move again. And on this occasion it was too much for the man in red and yellow.

The Winner: The Ultimate Warrior after a huge lariat and pin at 24 min and 49 sec.

Warrior leads the Best of 7 Series 2-1.

My apologies the fights were written I forgot to post them until now. Enjoy.

Sting vs Rey Mysterio

Match 4

Sting leads Best of 7 Series 3-0.

The match started of with Sting taking a quick lead in offence. Using his running bulldogs and splashes to his downed opponent, the man from Venice Beach got some early 2 counts. Rey would battle back using his speed and moonsault splashes but could only get Sting down for 1 counts. Sting went to get more of an advantage with his trusty reverse tornado DDT from the corner but after connecting Mysterio quickly popped up with a low dropkick to cut the momentum. Later in the match the combatants found themselves in the corner once again with Sting propelling Mysterio into the opposite corner where Mysterio did a very athletic Daniel Bryan like flip back. Sting as he has down in their previous matched tossed Rey out of the ring, but was he going to follow it up with that exciting suidicide dive? Yes he did. Referee Joe did a good job doing his steady count as Sting attempted to capitalize on Rey but Mysterio turned aggresive and shot Sting into the guard rail. When both men returned to the ring Mysterio took advantage making Sting bow forward, jumping on his back and flipping him inside out for the Super Rana pinning combination. And miraculously Mysterio got the 1,2,3 and lived to fight another day.

Your winner: Rey Mysterio @ 17min 27sec with the Super Rana.

Sting leads Best of 7 Series 3-1.

--

Dolph Ziggler vs Billy Gunn

Match 4

Ziggler leads Best of 7 Series 3-0.

Billy Gunn is down 3, nothing and he sure did not want to give knocked off by the young brash Dolph Zigger. Gunn game out with a lot of fight exhibiting text book vertical suplexes, strong bodyslams even an enziguri. Ziggler would have to get back into the match using wear down holds like grounded headlocks and abdominal stetches. Gunn would get the advantage in the corner and place Ziggler on the top ropes in a very precarious position. He would brilliantly pull all of his and Ziggler's body weight down into pinning comibination but Ziggler would very gamely kick out at 2. Gunn tried his best to use his strength and speed but again Ziggler's wrestling ability was just too much with Ziggler catching Gunn with a Scissors Sleeper on the ground for the win and spot in the next round.

The Winner: Dolph Zigger at 19min 00sec with the Scissors Sleeper

Ziggler wins series 4-0.

--

Billy Kidman vs Scott Steiner

Match 4

Kidman leads Best of 7 Series 3-0.

It was funny starting this series off you would think that the bigger stronger Steiner would have the advantage but Kidman has really come out strong in this series. Could Steiner turn it around in this match? Steiner came out very agressive hitting some impressive power moves like the over the top belly to belly suplex and the unforgiving pump handle slam. It seemed like Kidman could not get into his groove until he connected with an enziguri which sent Steiner to the mat. Kidman followed it up with a quick dropped to the back on the head on the sitting Steiner. But Steiner would counter with a quick role up for a 2. Kidman would find his groove with a beautiful Shooting Star Press pinning combintation which Steiner would kick out of. Scotty would be able to but on the devasting Steiner Screwdriver but was unsuccessful with the pin. Kidman would get his second wind and kick out of it. Once again the camel clutch became the deciding factor as Kidman was opportunistic and locked it in for the sweep against the tag team great.

The Winner: Billy Kidman at 24min 10sec w/ a Camel Clutch
--

Hulk Hogan vs The Ultimate Warrior

Match 4

Warrior leads the Best of 7 Series 2-1.

Warrior would again start of this match agressive hitting a body slam and then reversing an attempt at an atopic drop by the Hulkster. Warrior appeared to getting the better of the power exchanges hitting big time vertical suplexed and connecting with big time punches. Hogan would take advantage of a Warrior blunder as the man with the face paint missed with a running shoulder block. Hogan would pick up Warrior as he was dizzy and look around at the crowd as if to say where are my Hulkamaniac I need you. The action would spill to the outside where Hogan was very agressive, bodyslamming The Warrior on the outside blue flooring and getting Warrior in a headlock and punching him right in head. As the action got back in the ring Warrior set Hogan bouncing off the ropes as he did on the opposite end connecting with the shoulder block he had missed earlier. It seemed out of no where Hogan got the Warrior in a bear hug as he must have taken his vitamens that morning as the Warrior submitted and the ref called for the bell.

The Winner: Hulk Hogan @ 17 min 41sec with a Bear Hug

The Series is Tied 2-2.

Sting vs Rey Mysterio

Match 5

Sting leads Best of 7 Series 3-1

I've seen these guys fight 4 times on my FPW and no match has dissapointed and the 5th installment of the series was no exception. The beginning was very back and forth, with Sting eventually getting the advantage with some running splashes and trying to wear down Mysterio with the Scorpian death lock. Then there was period whenever Sting would get an advantage Mysterio would do this low dropkick to the knees killing any momentum. There was were a lot of tremendous reversals in this one. Mysterio locks up with Sting, Sting does a go behind, and Mysterio behind him to jump on his shoulders spin around and hurricanrana him for a near fall. Mysterio locks up with Sting to go behind him and Sting hits him a version of the RKO. And one the best reverals which was shades of a classic Mysterio/Jericho match, Rey would go for the hurricanrana and Sting would just muscle his legs down for a boston crap. I marked out for that was pretty cool. These two set a great pace and this match was shades of different matches all rolled into one. At the 20 minute mark there so many near falls. I was surprised how into the match I got being that it was a make believe fight on videogame but it was pretty sick. Somewhere in all that fast action Sting managed to slap on the Scorpian Death Lock and the warrior Mysterio had to tap. I guarantee if this was a real match they would have done the babyface post match with both of them shaking hands and celebrating together with a standing ovation.

Your Winner: Sting with a Scorpian Death Lock @ 26min 02 sec.

Sting wins the Best of 7 Series 4-1 advancing to the next round.

Hulk Hogan vs The Ultimate Warrior

Match 5

The Series is Tied 2-2

In a Best of 7 Series a 2-2 tie, is a pivital moment. The winner goes up so close to the finish and the loser must rally everything have to aviod elimination. This match started off with a feeling of caution. Both men would trade moves like body slams and big punches but no big chances. Hogan slowly but surely started to gain an advantage when he it came to a battle of fists. It went Hogan with punch to Warrior, Warrior returns the punch to Hogan, and Hogan just whalloped Warrior with one of thosebig lariots that look like it took the guy's head off. The Hulkster would go on to punish the Warrior until Warrior broke it up with a great stalling vertical suplex. Hogan would regain control but Warrior would use that very stalling suplex again to send Hogan falling to the outside floor ad YET again the suplex was used on the cold blue flooring outside. When the action got back in the ring Warrior would rally with a pair of clotheslines that got him a near fall. Warrior started to get nasty landing TWO low blow reversals on Hogan that would have surely gotten a favourable reaction out of Bobby Heenan back in the day. It was odd for a second it was like Warrior was turning flat out heel. Hogan managed to stay course and stuck to his good and red and yellow ways to once again bear hug the Warrior into submission and win a very important match in the series. That for sure would have made Bobby Heenan sick.

Your Winner: Hulk Hogan @ 25min 18sec with a Bear Hug.

Hogan leads the Best of 7 Series 3-2.

Hulk Hogan vs The Ultimate Warrior

Match 6

Hogan leads the Best of 7 Series 3-2.

I know that some people look at Hulk Hogan and the Ultimate Warrior and say these two have very simple move sets. And this may be true compared to the likesof Jushin Thunder Liger or a Taka Michinoku but brother, in this match these two pulled out all the stops. The match started off with a Warrior putting a quick Bear Hug on Hogan. The Bear Hug has been a very crucial move in this contest as Hogan has used to it more than once to put the out the Warrior, so it was almost as if Warrior was trying to punk Hogan out at the very start. And on top of that Warrior would use the cocky Chris Jericho foot pose to pin Hogan as Hogan quickly would shrug it off. This was actually a common trend in the match as both guys almost seemed like they were out to embarrass the other. Warrior would take the early advantage and would suplex Hogan to the outside. Not too long after that Warrior would would do a stalling vertical suplex to the outside. Hogan would later have enough and just grab the Warrior and blatanly toss him to the outside. Warrior went on to dominate at one point in the match knocking Hogan over with a running clothesline and immediately following it up with one of those wind up knock your head off lariots. It wouldnt be long before Hogan took control of the match and man when he took it he didn't let up. After beating down the Warrior with punches until Warrior was face down in the mat, Hogan would bounce off the ropes and deliver a leg drop to the back of Warrior skull, then he would climb to the top rope and channeled his inner Psychosis with a Guillotine Leg Drop off the top ropes. Warrior would recover and regain the momentum going on a rampage, more clotheslines and press slams. And then, almost like it was scripted on TV Hogan does a FPW version of a Hulk up comeback, hitting bodyslams and atomic drops and clothelines on the Warrior and then he does the classic flex on the chest and traps and the tilted arm up to the sky.

At this point I was like really into the match and thinking it's amazing how Fire Pro seems to never dissapoint. Hogan now so filled with energy feels he can do no wrong and heads to the top for another flying leg drop but as he comes off the top in mid air, Warrior gets to his feet and ol' Hogie come crashing into the ground in a great "Oh snap!" moment. I was like "ya go Warrior go... this is your chance to make a comeback" but Hogan still had some juice left in him as every move that Warrior tried to pull off was countered by Hogan. After this point the match was going back and forth like both men knew the importance of this match and did not want to let up. Warrior would force Hogan to the corner and pull off a superplex.

It was great, the match gave the illusion both men knew how great the other way and did pull out all the stops like this. This was actually one of 2 superplexes that Warrior pulled off on Hogan but The Hulkster came to fight that night. There was also a back suplex Hogan delivered on Warrior and after he hit it both men laid on the floor breathing for a bit, which is a really cool touch the Fire Pro games have which really added more drama to the match. Soon Warrior would dominate the match again. The Warrior with Miltary Press crazy it was really cool actually. He threw Hogan to ropes and Hogan ran back and he pressed him over his head and pretty much dumped him outside to the floor in another show of disrespect. When Hogan got back in the ring Warrior followed up the last press with another one this time doing the reps as only the Warrior could back in the day and tossing Hogan to the floor like a rag doll. Watching the match you kind of felt it belonged to Warrior because he was the aggressor most of the match but goodness gracious as it had happened before it happened again. Yes Hogan out of nowhere slaps on the Bear Hug and the ref throws up the hands, getting sweet sweet revenge for their epic Wrestlemania 6 encounter.

The Winner: Hulk Hogan @ 29min 39sec with Bear Hug.

Hogan wins the Best of 7 Series 4-2 and advances to the next round.

SEMIFINALS

Dolph Zigger vs Sting

Match 1

I am very intrigued by this match up. Writing these type of matches gave me a keen view point when it came to both men's styles. Dolph Zigger sweeped Billy Gunn because although Gunn had great strength and speed in their matches, something lacked in Gunn when it came to duribility in my matches. Sting bested Rey Mysterio 3-1 in the opening round, I think because Mysterio could not make the distance when it came to matching strength and power. Ziggler has the strength, Ziggler has the killer instict and has many weapons to do that and Sting has the passion to go toe to toe with "The Showoff". And that all proved to be true in the opening match of the semifinals. It really was a tale of which guy could outlast the other's vast asernal, specifically the Sleeper Hold vs the Scorpian Death Lock. Zigger would favour pulling off this grounded headlock and the animation on it is really good. It's pretty much a normal headlock and then the guy uses all this body weight to muscle the guy's body to the floor and just yank up on the neck. Meanwhile Sting would counter this with a Terry Funk like punch combos and lots of quick beat down chops. Ziggler would use different versions of the sleeper to tire down the surfer looking Sting. Sleepers coming of the ropes and numberous Scissors Sleepers on the floor. Sting had an amazing sequence against Dolph when he pulled off three consecutive manuevers that have made his famous. The Stinger Splash, The Scorpian Death Drop and finally the Scorpian Death Lock. Both men showed a great pace with lots of athleticism but on this day the Scorpian Death Lock bested the Sleeper Hold as Sting's version of the Sharpshooter did Ziggler in just after 24min.

The Winner: Sting w/ the Scorpian Death Lock @ 24min 13sec.

Sting leads the Best of 7 Series 1-0

Billy Kidman vs Hulk Hogan

Match 1

When thinking about the brackets in my head I was hoping that this match would happen. As many of you remember Kidman and Hogan did have a feud that happened in late WCW. I know people run down Vince Russo but I was big fan that this feud that happened under his match. Kidman ran down Hogan saying he was old and that guys like him were the workhorses of WCW. Hogan would tell Kidman, everyone wants something without hard work and it takes something special to be a real superstar. It was great because that match should never have happened and there it was. I even mark out a little bit when I put Hogan in matches with guys like Jushin Thunder Liger because it's a match like with Kidman shouldn't happen but here it is on the game. But let's get into this match now shall we?

Kidman opened the match with a Ricky Steamboat like arm drag and Hoan quicking counter with a good old but effective straight right hand to the skull. There couldnt have been a better example of both men's styles. Kidman was a house of fire in the opening sweeping Scott Steiner 4-1 but Hogan did a great job of neutralizing Kidman using power moves such as numermous back suplexes and atomic drops. Kidman would use his speed to counter Hogan's power attack. Running heel kick, drop kicks to seated opponent helped even up the field. Kidman would somehow even muster up the strength at one point to hit Hogan with Sky High Powerbomb. What was cool about this match was both guys had a fatigue moment were they both stood up gasping for air. This never happened to Kidman in the opening round. I would guess that Hogan's power game really took Kidman off guard and I assume the pace Kidman was giving the much larger Hogan had him a bit tired. Hogan would not go easy on Kidman at all being very aggresive, at one time hitting Kidman with that wind up take your head off clothesline. Hogan even hit his trademark legdrop, including running off the ropes. However Kidman continued his undefeated record in this whole tournment after connecting with a Shining Enzuigri and getting the win at 23min 32sec.

Your winner: Billy Kidman w/ the Shining Enzuigiri @ 23min 32sec.

Billy leads the Best of 7 Series 1-0.

The Semi Finals win contine tomorrow at 8:30pm Eastern.

Dolph Ziggler vs Sting

Match 2

Sting leads the Best of 7 Series 1-0

I do really like this match up because both guys on paper look pretty even and I'm expecting a long series. Match 2 opened with Ziggler getting off a quick fireman's carry. But after that offensive move Ziggler would struggle. Sting would dominate with punch and chop like combos. Sting would put on the Scorpian Death lock early to wear down Ziggler. Ziggler would get offensive moves here and there like a one legged boston crab but Sting clearly owned the first half of the match. Ziggler would get Sting into the corner and I myself was pleased for the young bleach blonde star but the other bleached blonde Sting reversed Ziggler's suplex into a POWERBOMB OFF THE ROPES, yes that's right, that would have made Mike Awesome jealous. Suprsingly that only got a 2 count. Ziggler would get his second wind that at this time hit a version of the Zig Zag, and keeping Sting grounded with Scissors Sleeper. Ziggler did not let Sting get any moves in until Sting got his second wind strapped on the Scorpian Death Lock that he had put on numerous times before. This time proved to be lucky and the most effective asRef Joe threw up his arms awarded the match to the man called Sting.

The Winner: Sting with The Scorpian Death Lock @ 20min 07 sec.

Billy Kidman vs Hulk Hogan

Match 2

Kidman leads best of 7 Series 1-0

This was a fantastic match and the story of the match was really Hogan's fighting skills vs Kidman's wrestling finesse. The match started with Kidman getting off a nice arm drag and Hogan would come back with a body slam. The match went back and forth for a bit both men pulling off moves and really taking their time in between. But after warming up potion Hogan pretty much took over. If you didn't know who Hogan was (which pretty much would be impossible unless from another planet) and your only exposure was him from this match, you would have thought he was a crazy merciless brawler. The dude looked like Stan Hansen in this match. A lot of power moves were used on Kidman and not pretty power moves but the dirty brutal power moves. Hogan did that wind up I'm-gonna-take-your-head-off clothesline a few times and that straight arm brutal punch to the face that almost takes the opponent off their feet. Kidman could not defend himself for a while in there. Hogan would be pulling off these beat down moves but Kidman was game for a fight. He'd always come back after 3 moves or so and connect with a step up enziguri, or a half boston crab or a hurricanrana to break the momentum. Hogan would pull out his trusted Bear Hug a few times as well and would use the running clothesline but the ref would count 2 and a half and Kidman would kick out. I don't know where the former Flock member got it from but Kidman rallied to hit Hogan with a superplex off the top followed up with two spinning kicks to the back of Hogan's shiny skull. He would immediatley slap on a Half Boston Grab on Hogan and the ref would call for the submission at 27min and 25 sec. Kidman pulled off one the greatest comebacks I personally have seen on my game and continues has an impressive record of 6-0 in this tournment.

Your Winner: Billy Kidman with a Half Boston Crab @ 27min 25sec

Kidman leads Best of 7 Series 2-0.

Dolph Ziggler vs Sting

Match 3

Sting leads Best of 7 Series 2-0

This match was a had high intensity throughout the whole thing as it felt like Ziggler really wanted to get on the board and Sting would do what he could to make sure that didn't happen. In the beginning Ziggler tried to throw Sting's head into the turnbuckle but Sting stopped it short and sent Ziggler's head crashing into the turnbuckle instead. Sting was very punch combo drunk in this contest as he would love using his fists on the prominant jaw of Ziggler. Sting also found himself slapping Ziggler to the mat mercilessly a few times. Zigger would be resilent and put up a fight grounding Sting with mat wrestling acumen. And although it appeared Sting would getting the better of Ziggler with the high impact fight combos Ziggler was slowly but surely storing up some good points with these wear down moves. Sting would find himself on the top rope as he had left Ziggler standing stunned and leaped off the ropes with a beautiful cross body pin that would have made the 1-2-3 Kid take notice. The match was approaching the 20 minute mark and usually this is when it gets scary for the competitors as any normal submission can become deadly. Ziggler threw Sting off the ropes and gripped on the sleeper hold. I was thinking is this enough is Sting done. But Sting would muster up the strength to get out of it. The action would fall to the outside, and Sting really wasn't messing around, as he picked up a chair and swatted it as it connected with Ziggler's chest. Ziggler would return to the ring at the count of 16 and Sting did give chase. It was Sting's turn to throw Ziggler into the ropes from a special move and this time it was a spine numbing DDT. The Scorpian Death Lock was applied and Ziggler had to reluctantly give up putting the Stinger up 3-0.

The Winner:Sting w/ a Scorpian Death Lock at 27min 31 sec

Sting leads the Best of 7 Series 3-0.

Billy Kidman vs Hulk Hogan

Match 3

Kidman leads the Best of 7 Series 2-0

Wow. This match was just as good or perhaps just a peg below the last match they had. The match started off pretty and forth. Hogan getting one move in like a bodyslam or a headlock punch and Kidman getting in his moves like an arm drag or bulldog. What made this match really good compared to the last one was the last match was a tale of Hogan beating up Kidman and Kidman getting in desperation moves that eventually added up to an upset. This match was more even when it came to offense. Hogan would get off his clotheslines, bodyslams and Bear Hugs but Kidman would get his finesse moves in like a standing hurricana, Sky High powerbombs and seated dropkicks to the head. As opposed to the other match Kidman attempted 3 Shooting Star Presses which he ironically didn't have any in their last match. Two of them would connect but one was scaringly familar to Brock Lesnar's on Kurt Angle at Wrestlemania XIX . Hogan was laying on his back a little bit off range and Kidman would go for the move and hit Hogan's body but he was a bit off and Hogan was the first to his feet. Hogan went on to make Kidman BLEED. With a straight up right to the face, nothing fancy. And every punch after that to the head just looked a little bit more dirty. Hogan would get Kidman to the corner and do the 80's friendly 10 punch but this 10 punch came off more sinister as Kidman was already busted open. I really liked the finish in this match. As mentioned in the earlier match once you get past the 25 minute mark any move let alone any submission could be a finisher. Hogan was dominating hitting his powermoves and looked to be setting up Kidman for the finish. Kidman out of nowhere hits a climb up the back enzuigiri, the a standing hurricanrana and immediately goes to Hogan's feet and looks on the Boston Crab. I was like "Oh snap this could be it." and it was the ref gave the signal just after the 30min mark.

The Winner: Kidman w/ the Boston Crab @ 30min 02sec

Kidman leads Best of 7 Series 3-0.

Can Ziggler and Hogan get on the board or will Sting and Kidman sweep them off? Find out tomorrow night at 8:30 Eastern.

Dolph Ziggler vs Sting

Match 4

Sting leads Best of 7 Series 3-0

The forth match of the series and Sting is looking to sweep and head into the finals. Could Dolph Ziggler do whatever he could in his power to make sure that didn't happen? The match started off with both men trading moves back and forth. Sting got Ziggler in corner and connected with the Stinger splash it was a perfect set up for an early Scorpion Death Drop but Ziggler elbowed the man in face paint off. I felt bad for Ziggler, it really seemed like Sting had his number. In previous matches Sting would take his submissions and take his high impact moves but it always seemed to be in vain as Sting has consistently outlasted Ziggler. As Ziggler applied his abdominal stretches and torqued back Sting's neck with his grounded headlocks it would always seem like the resilent Sting would come out of it. Which Sting did, to land that highly effective reverse Tornado DDT. Sting would land his punch combos but Ziggler would do well landing text book vertical suplexes and another one of those push down seated headlocks that really looks like it damages the neck. I really don't know what happened but out of the blue it was one of those very grounded headlocks that did Sting in just after only 18min. It was a win Ziggler would surely take as he lived to fight another day.

The Winner: Dolph Zigger with a Ground Headlock @ 18min 20sec

Sting leads Best of 7 Series 3-1.

-

Billy Kidman vs Hulk Hogan

Match 4

Kidman leads Best of 7 Series 3-0

Billy Kidman totally owned the first half of this match. The Frankensteiner, the multiple running heel kicks, the text book vertical suplexes all had little to no answer. Hogan hung in there though getting in his trusty Bear Hug and some shots but the match was really Kidman's to lose and he showed that with very dominant first half of this match. And it wasn't even that Hogan took over in the second half of the match, rather went toe to toe with Kidman. It seemed though no matter what Hogan did to Kidman, the former cruiserweight champion would always rise to his feet and deliver a great technical move like a climb up enziguri. After seeing Kidman's unbelieveable one loss record of 7-0 in the whole tournament it was hard to be believe that anyone could throw him off course. But you had to hand to Hogan, Kidman delivered and connected very nicely with THREE shooting star presses and Hogan would not let that count go past 2. Hogan did land his finisher, the running leg drop but Kidman just kept getting up. Hogan would throw Kidman to the outside, Kidman would stand up and be dizzy but he'd come back in and fight. Kidman would deliver two impressive corner moves on Hogan. At one time a superplex and another a top rope hurricanrana but again Hogan would not go easy. Hogan would throw Kidman to the ropes and connect with a clothesline, as he had done so many times before in the match and the ref counted 1...2... and 3! I personally was shocked, as something was in the air in the arena today as both Ziggler and Hogan keep off elimination for at least one more day. And Hogan being that old neutralizer he was against the Warrior ending Billy Kidman's winning streak and leaving him 7 and 1.

The Winner: Hulk Hogan with a Clothesline @ 37min 15sec.

Kidman leads Best of 7 Series 3-1.

Hogan and Ziggler are on the board but is it too little too late for them. Find out as the Semi Finals continue and possibly conclude tomorrow at 8:30pm Eastern.

Dolph Ziggler vs Sting

Match 5

Sting leads Best of 7 Series 3-1

I am really suprised how this series went. I thought with Ziggler and Sting being such great athletes possessing great strength and speed that this series would go very far. For Sting to jump out 3 staight to Ziggler's eventual one was very suprising to me. This match started off with Ziggler ready for war. Ziggler would get on a roll hitting three moves in a row, but Sting would come back with a smaller less effective move like a straight punch to the face. Fireman's carry by Ziggler, swinging neck breaker by Ziggler, half leg Boston crab by Ziggler and it went on and on. I swear Ziggler must have hit like 9 or 10 moves in a row. You were watching this and just waiting for Sting to get back in the match. And in one of the most shocking finishes in recent memory Ziggler gets Sting in an armbar at only 8 minutes flat and the Sting submits. Wow, those shaking hand arm bars are deadly.

The Winner: Ziggler with a Trap X Arm Hold @ 8min 00sec

Sting leads Best of 7 Series 3-2

Billy Kidman vs Hulk Hogan

Match 5

Kidman leads Best of 7 Series 3-1

I was kind of dissapointed to see Kidman go down last match. It would have been cool if he went undefeated throughout the whole tournment but Hogan proved that he is the king at neutralizing offense. Hogan came out very dominant like he knew his back was up against the wall. If you were keeping points Hogan was the man getting off most of the moves. Running clothesline, back suplexes, atomic drops. Kidman would try and come back with an enziguri followed up by a roll up, but Hogan would regain the advantage. One of the funniest part in the match was when Hogan really wanted to finish off Kidman so he went to the top ropes for a Super Leg Dop but even though he landed of Kidman it looked like he didn't connect and he just flopped to the floor. But Hogan was persistent so he tried the same move later in the match - with the same result lol. Despite these blunders Hogan went on to dominate the match and Kidman was getting desperate landing two reversal low blow kicks. I suppose this really got Hogan extremely ticked off as he he blasted Kidman in the face and gives that lovely word that all FPW fans love to see... CRITICAL.

The Winner: Hulk Hogan @ 11min 55sec w/ a KO.

Kidman leads Best of 7 Series 3-2

Note: My apologies for the late start. Gotta get a proper alarm clock.

Dolph Ziggler vs Sting

Match 6

Sting leads Best of 7 Series 3-2

This match actually felt like both men knew the stakes were high they were pulling out the stops. I saw some moves in this one that I rarely see. The match started with Zigger getting a quick advantage. Zigger's favourite move of the match had to be the snap suplex, I'm pretty such he the standuard vertical one two but I think he wanted to rattle Sting's body a bit more. When Sting got the offense going he would get those unforgiving punch and slap combos in and even lock on the Scorpian Death Lock early to wear down Ziggler. Sting would send Ziggler running into the ropes but would miss with the Stinger Splash! He would recover and get behind the Master of the Zig Zig, but in a great animation Sting would try to pull off the Scorpian Death Drop but Zigger would grab Sting's head and pull him over. Ziggler would snap off another suplex and exemplified the importance of the match by going to the top rope for an elbow drop which he would connect with. Sting and Ziggler battled very hard with both guys going for a dropkick simultaneously which was cool, because it symbolized how even these guys were athletically. Sting would get Ziggler in the Scorpian Death Lock very close to the ropes, I was wondering if it was close enough, because it clearly did. But the ref through up his hands in controversial fashion. Nonetheless Sting is going to the Finals!.

The Winner: Sting @ 17min 29sec w/ a Scorpian Death Lock

Sting wins the Best of 7 Series 4-2.

Billy Kidman vs Hulk Hogan

Match 6

Kidman leads Best of 7 Series 3-2

I really didn't know what to expect from this match with Kidman pulling out 3-0 and then Hogan coming back with 2 victories in a row with the last one being with a KO to the face at just 18min. It was really anyone's game. The match started off pretty back and forth until Hogan got into a groove and really handed Kidman a whoppin. Atomic drops, wind up clotheslines, Hogan would even go for quick leg drop off the back of Kidman's head when given the chance. Kidman would get in a Frankensteiner and an enziguri here and there but Hogan was clearly ahead in points. Kidman hits a desperation DDT get momentum on his side and he must of taken some tips when he was running with Raven cause that DDT ended up giving him a 1, 2, 3! And the power of Hulkamania was not enough to stop the red hot Kidman, at least in this tournment.

The Winner: Billy Kidman @ 17min 44sec w/ a Jumping DDT.

Kidman wins the Best of 7 Series 4-2.

It's the Stinger and another former cruiserweight champion, the red hot Billy Kidman in the Finals. Best of 7 Style tomorrow at 8:30pm Eastern. Doncha Dare Miss It!!!

THE FINALS

Sting vs Billy Kidman

Match 1

Running through Rey Mysterio and Dolph Zigger Sting finds himself in the finals. Kidman outlasting Scott Steiner and Hulk Hogan to earn his spot in the finals. Who will be the man to reign supreme over all competitors at the end of this series? Neither man has ever given up an opening match in this tournment but something had to give in this one. Billy Kidman was very dominant in the beginning of this match, he would set the a fast pace with arm drags, enziguris and even plant the seeds for to wear down Sting with a single leg boston grab. Sting would get in a quick punch or chop but really the first part of this match belonged to Kidman. Sting would throw Kidman into the ropes but the athletic cruiserweight would none of it simply running Sting down from the irish whip. Kidman would land a standing Frankensteiner and then an additional Frankensteiner as Sting came running off the ropes. It seemed like a one sided fight for at least 10 minutes until Sting did what Sting does, gives the fans great exciting combacks. Sting would turn the tide with chop down combo that literally had Kidman beaten down to the floor. He would get Kidman in the corner and land the fan friendly 10 punch. Sting would follow it up with two of his signature moves of the Scorpian nature, The Scorpian Death Drop and the Scorpian Death Lock. Kidman had so much fight and would not back down using a go behind and flooring Sting with a sleeper drop takedown. Kidman was not playing around as he would hop to the top ropes from the Shooting Star Press and would connect but on this occasion it was only for a 2. Not to be outdone aerially Sting would later take to the skies and land a body splash Sting style. Sting would try and wear down the energetic Kidman with the Scorpian Death Lock some more as Kidman would combat that with yet another single leg boston crab. Kidman would take to the skies again and would land a Tornado DDT on a standing Sting which was really an awesome animation. The Stinger had been smart enough to diligently work on Kidman with the Scorpian Death Lock throughout Kidman's spirts of offense and he would lock the famous move one more time but would it be enough... it was just after the 24 minute mark, with a remarkable comeback win.

Your Winner: Sting w/ a Scorpian Death Lock @ 24min 27sec

Sorry once again for those who tuned in for being late. I gotta get on these here on time. Here's the match write up for tonight:

Billy Kidman vs Sting

Match 2

Sting leads the Best of 7 Series 1-0

The second match of the finals and it starts off pretty even with both men trading back and forth and setting a very quick pace. Kidman's go to move was the Frankensteiner he would use it to get the first advantage of the match to plant Sting right where he wanted him. Kidman would jump to the ropes and fly through the air (WITH THE GREATEST OF EASE as Booker T would say :P) with a nice shooting star press. Sting would kick out at 1. Kidman would be relentless getting the Stinger into the corner for what looked to be a superplex but Sting would cut Kidman short, stick Kidman's head between his legs and plant a POWERBOMB OFF THE TOP ROPES. A shooting star press and a powerbomb off the top ropes this is my kind of match. Sting would get a 2 count. Sting would punch Kidman right in the kisser and bust him open. And then Sting would become a beast hitting all these moves on the bloody face of Kidman. Jumping DDTs, Chop downs to the floor, Terry Funk like punch combos, running face plants to the floor and clothelines were in store for red faced Kidman. Kidman had a lot of fight in him and showed the will and desire that made him one of the best crusierweight champs in history as he connected with Lighting Speed combo (jumping enziguri/rollup pin) and pulled it out in this very fast paced match.

The Winner: Billy Kidman w/ "Lighting Speed" @ 16min 21sec

The Series is Tied 1-1.

The series will continue tomorrow night at 8:30 Eastern.

Match 3

The Series is Tied 1-1

Both Billy Kidman and the Man called Sting have shown great tenacity, durability and heart throughout the tournament and the wrestler who showed most of these qualities would break this tie. The start of the match was pretty even until Kidman hit his trusty Frankensteiner. Kidman would go to the top early and land the beautiful Shooting Star press but the Stinger would kick out. Kidman would have his way with Sting landing such moves as the jumping vertical suplex, and swift dropkicks to the head of the seated Sting. Kidman would then get Sting into the corner and but unfortantely for the former cruiserweight champ it would be shades of match 2, as Sting would counter with a powerbomb off the top topes for 2. Sting would try and rally back with his punch combos and slap combos to the ground and would land a running face jam. Sting seemed to be really fired up. Kidman would propel Sting to the ropes and connect with 360 spinning dropkick which got Sting down for the 2.9 as Ref Joe gave the arm signal that is it was oh so close. Kidman would try and follow up as he picked up Sting from behind but Sting would channel his inner Randy Orton with a great RKO like reversal. Sting would struggle after this point as Kidman would use one of his most effective moves in the match, the running bulldog. It appeared as many as Sting would try and set Kidman up with something from behind Kidman would reverse and send Sting's face crashing to the floor. Kidman would use the combo move that FPW calls "Lighting Speed" the enziguri immediately followed up with a bounce off the ropes and small package. It won Match 2 for Kidman, and it was effective one more time for the 1,2,3.

The winner: Billy Kidman with Lighting Speed @ 16min 21sec

Kidman leads Best of 7 Series 2-1.

I just noticed that Kidman beat Sting in Matches 2 and 3 at oddly the same amount of time with the same move. Could Kidman do it again? Find out tomorrow night at 8:30pm Eastern.

This match was exciting in the way that it seemed like both guys justed wanted to beat down the other guy and get to the next match. Kidman went for his go to Frankensteiner early which has been very effective in this series. He would cover Sting but the Stinger would push Kidman off even before the ref could hit a one count. It just seemed like there was just a huge sense of urgency to finish the match. Sting did not appreciate Kidman going for that early pin as he backed him into the corner and pummeled on the handsome face of Kidman which must of had Torrie Wilson worried somewhere out there. Both wrestlers went through flurries of big moves. Sting hitting a vertical suplex, a DDT and inverted atomic drop back to back to back. Kidman was doing a showcase of his moves from a running opponent tossing Sting to the ropes for a hurricanrana and immediately tossing him back to the ropes for an arm drag. Kidman would go for a move that has been successful for him in real life contest, the Sky High powerbomb for an oh so close 2.9. Kidman would then hit a jumping DDT and go for the pin, 1, 2, and 3! And Kidman gets the win at an extremely fast paced, no rest spots match at only 11min 48sec.

The Winner: Kidman w/ a Jumping DDT and pinfall @ 11min 48sec

Kidman leads Best of 7 Series 3-1.

Kidman's on a hot streak can he finish it all tomorrow or is Sting is line for big comback? Find out tomorrow night at 8:30pm Eastern.

Billy Kidman vs Sting

Match 5

Kidman leads Best of 7 Series 3-1

The match would start with both men trading punches and slaps and then Sting would go a calculated assault on the back of Kidman. Backbreakers on the knee, followed up by a camel clutch and even a Scorpian Death Lock. Sting would really have something to prove as he went to the top turnbuckle corner and came down on Kidman with a body slash. Kidman would get up only to be greeted now by an all assault on the face. Punch combos and slap down combos, with a side order of DDT's and running face plants. Sting was really a terror and reminded me of the dominance he put on in his early encounters with Rey Mysterio in the opening round. Sting would suplex Kidman near the ropes and Kidman would spill to outside. Sting would follow, once again giving Kidman a vertical suplex on the floor showing no mercy. Sting would send Kidman hurling into the guard rail. I suppose Kidman winning 3 in a row pushed Sting to be fired up like never before as he grabbed a chair as Kidman ran back into the inside. Sting would attempt to swat at Kidman with the Steel Chair but Kidman would grab Sting and give him a swift kick to the stomach. That would pretty much be all the offense Kidman got in as Sting would connect with a Samoan Drop, cover Kidman and get the pinfall in a one sided slaughter.

The Winner: Sting w/ a Samoan Drop @ 8min 54sec

Kidman leads Best of 7 Series 3-2.

Sting came out extremely strong tonight. Can he tie up tomorrow or will Kidman win it all? Find out tomorrow night at 8:30pm Eastern.

Billy Kidman vs Sting

Match 6

Kidman leads Best of 7 Series 3-2

A very crucial match in the finals with the Stinger looking to tie it up and Kidman looking to take it all. The match starts with both men throwing out everything but wrestling moves, chops, punches and slaps galore. Kidman goes for the "Lighting Speed" early, but the enziguri small package combo was shrugged off like it was nothing. Kidman goes to another move that was very effective in the tournment his standing Frankensteiner. He immediately hops to the ropes and follows up with a beautiful Shooting Star Press. This was all too early once again as Sting kicks out at 1. Perhaps Kidman was just trying to show Sting as many offensive moves as you have I can keep up. That would remain to be seen. The former cruserweight champion would be successful in wearing down the Stinger with a jumping vertical suplex. Kidman would plant Sting on the turnbuckle and as he did this I was saying to myself "I don't know..." and before I could finish that thought Sting had once again reversed that move into a powerbomb off the top ropes. It would only get a 2. Kidman would regain control tossing Sting into the ropes, bouncing off the opposite end and connect with with a 360 dropkick. Kidman would go for the pin and get a 2.9 almost ending the whole series. You know Kidman would have one of those "Are you kidding me?" classic frustration moments. Sting now was fired up he would plant a straight up closed fist to the face of Kidman opening him up. It would be an all assault on the bloody face of Kidman as Sting would connect with, punch combos, a 10 punch in the corner, a running face jam, and a clothesline that surely must of had Kidman's blood flying into the first row. But Kidman had some tricks left up his sleeve as he went for his trusty "Lightning Speed" combo one more time. BAM the jumping enziguri connected leaving Sting in a daze and the crimson faced Kidman came sprinting off the ropes for a quick roll up. Would it be enough the second time around?? One, two.... THREE! AND KIDMAN KIDMAN THE KID MAN outlasts, The Stinger, outlasts Hulk Hogan, outlasts Scott Steiner and Ziggler, and Gunn and Mysterio and even the Ullllltimate Warrior to be the KING, at least in this tournament, in BEST OF 7 ACTION!

The Winner: Billy Kidman @ 16min 21sec w/ "Lighting Speed"

Kidman wins series 4-2 and the tournment.
