The Senator/DR Classic Save 4.0 IS HERE!!!!

Postby Senator on Tue Mar 24, 2009 7:58 pm

This edit pack spans the ages from approximately the 1880s to the current decade, and I'd like to present it as much of a historical lesson as an edit pack, although not the sort of lesson that involves twenty page essays or droning lectures! By all means, look up information on the pioneers, their era was immensely fascinating and laid the groundwork for today's wrestling industry, and even for modern mixed martial arts.

Many of the pre-existing edits have been retooled quite a bit to fit more within the style of their respective times, but are still intended to be fully compatible with the more modern edits on my main save in terms of stats, parameters, and basic logic(For example, I've toned down Brody and Hansen's finisher %, made Gotch and Thesz more balanced in their offense, etc). Even so, the likes of say, a George Hackenschmidt/Evan Bourne match might come off rather strangely...

Suggestions for future edits are great, I have plenty of people planned for future releases, but if you want to see my take on somebody, I'll be glad to take a shot, so long as I have footage/movesets to work with. I'm always delighted to see feedback on my edits, and I always welcome CONSTRUCTIVE criticism, as it helps me improve my edits in ways I wouldn't have noticed.

2.0 Intro
Spoiler: show
Finally! After one of the longest waits between any two releases of my edit packs, I've finished the final touches on the 2.0 Classics Save! This time, though, I didn't go it completely alone, as has been my style in the past.

After asking advice for how to make Pioneer era edits, I received an offer I couldn't refuse from longtime FPCer Dhalsimrocks. He had been working on a good number of classic edits, but felt that with family and other pursuits, he would be hard pressed to ever find the time to finish the edits. Instead, he offered to let me use any edits that he started, finish them up in my own way, and also provided invaluable information and advice along the way. I think the results ended up being some of my best edits to date, and as such, I want to thank DR for his contributions to this pack, which are noted in the roster listings.

Since he's going to be in the WWE Hall of Fame this saturday, I was wondering if you could throw Koko B. Ware into the pack sometime.

Never converted a save before, so hopefully I did it correctly.

Okay. Good to know.

The file size looked kind of small, so I wasn't sure if I did it right (926 kb vs 963)... figured it was just copying from PS2 memory card to PS3 to USB, so I guess I was right :)

Done some more work on this save lately, adding Ahmed Johnson and Demolition, plenty more where that's coming from, I'm hoping to get some really old school wrestlers on the save, like Ed "Strangler" Lewis, Gorgeous George and such, fill out the tag teams more, etc.

Koko is 99% confirmed thanks to prior requests, I'm wanting to add the Natural Disasters(so Earthquake's a lock), JYD and HTM would both be excellent additions, and while Doink is the least likely of the group to be included, I've got a friend who's bugged me for ages to add him, so that's not entirely unlikely.

Also, I've now added Eric Bischoff, nWo Scott Norton, and Ralphus(yes, Ralphus) to the WCW roster.

Been going nuts with this save, it could be released ahead of my Current save. Added the Eliminators(Saturn re-edit and Kronus), the Barbarian(Faces of Fear version), Barry Windham(after two years of meaning to make him), and worked on Jim Molyneux as ECW's ref. I've also done an ample amount of editing on existing guys, and have a lot more planned before the 2.0 release.

Can't wait to release this one, it's been postponed a bit, I'm going to suggest an ETA of a month away, but I do think that the wait will be more than worth it.

Just finished the early work on my Bronko Nagurski edit, among others, including the Mountie, 80's Bossman, Roland Bock and Ashura Hara re-edits, and a lot, lot others whom I shall not disclose just yet.

Sounds great man. Been looking for a good Hara edit.
Completely unnecessary bit of information: "Hara" means "shit" in Hebrew :P
