Thanks for posting the update Senator. I'll be downloading this right now. I had a tournament of legendary wrestlers I was planning on using your save for, but I decided just to wait until the update was ready. I'll definitely let you know who wins when I finish it. :D

Yeah, I haven't started it yet, but I have got the brackets done for the first round. They look like this:

Steve Austin vs. Stan Hansen

Lou Thesz vs. Taz

Hulk Hogan (80's version) vs. Antonio Inoki

Sting (NWA version) vs. Nick Bockwinkel

Goldberg vs. Mitsuharu Misawa (AJPW version)

Buddy Rogers vs. Rob Van Dam

Bret Hart vs. Harley Race

Verne Gagne vs. Ric Flair (NWA version)

I'll keep posting updates as it progresses. My prediction is that Lou Thesz will win the tournament.

Yeah I think the technical wrestlers like Thesz, Gagne, Rogers and Hart will have the advantage in the tournament. I really would like to see Inoki beat Hogan, because I'm not really the biggest fan of Hogan but I felt obligated to include him for historical purposes.

I don't plan on having a full 64 wrestler tournament right now, so the wrestlers listed above will be the only ones involved in this one. I may in the future try a larger tourney but this is it for now.

As far as the technical wrestlers, they pretty much can beat anybody even if they are larger than them, more powerful than them, etc. with their speed and technical wrestling ability. They can tie wrestlers up in submission holds, bring them to the mat, etc. Power wrestlers and wrestlers with other styles can be rendered useless if they are flat on the mat all the time. So I think that's why they probably have the edge.

Still one of my favorite packs around. If I get the chance to create some parts of "Wild" Red Berry, would you help me polish some of the moves and logic?

Say Senator, I've been using your save as a base for a while now, so I was wondering... if I just add in new wrestlers from your updated pack, will it disrupt the balance of the overall save? Or should I just use your new saves and delete the old one?

The tournament sounds great, do tell how that turns out when you finish simming it. I am a bit afraid that Hogan might go further than you'd want, he's VERY tough to beat.

I'd love to help out on an edit, so long as I have a few matches out there to reference, and can figure out the finisher, I'm good. Sounds like it's time to do some research:)

My updated edits shouldn't have a problem meshing with previous versions at all. Personally I'd just go with this save unless you've put a lot of work into your previous base save, since I've done a lot of work that has improved matches, but might not be noticeable unless you really do some deep digging. That said, it's your decision, and if you're happy just putting some new additions onto your current save, they'll fit in fine.

Awesome! Looks like I've got some work to do as well since I know there are a few people I want to make to fill a void. Damn if I ever find some solid information on Roy Heffernan. I know Red Berry has a match or two out on youtube before he turned into a manager so I'll start from there. :)

Ah many thanks Senator. Well, I have done quite a few edits here and there and well...I never really wrote down what I edit. T.T

Glad to hear that it will mesh well. =D

I finally got around to starting my tournament, I haven't completed the entire first round yet, I've done six of the matches, and here are the results so far. I decided to make the matches have 30 minute time limits.

Steve Austin defeats Stan Hansen via Stone Cold stunner at 15:00

Lou Thesz defeats Taz via Original Backdrop Suplex at 12:42

Antonio Inoki defeats Hulk Hogan via arm hold CRITICAL (!) at 7:03

Sting and Nick Bockwinkel wrestle to a 30:00 time limit draw

Goldberg defeats Mitsuharu Misawa via Jack Hammer at 13:16

Rob Van Dam defeats Buddy Rogers via Spin Kick at 18:23

Pretty much all the matches were back and forth, Misawa was busted open in his match with Goldberg, and Goldberg for some reason felt the need to bring a couple chairs into the mix. Inoki beating Hogan that way really did shock me, but I was happy about that. I didn't expect RVD to beat Rogers either, so that was quite a surprise.

Good stuff, there, and I'd love to hear how the rest of it goes. Inoki is a beast, but even so, it's always an upset when someone goes over on prime Hogan. RVD's win is a bigger upset for sure, but he's got the high impact moves and the speed to give anyone trouble. How're you going to deal with the draw?

I'll check Goldberg's weapon logic, it's likely too high and needs a quick tweaking. (anything above 3% would be for him)

I'll just let Inoki get a free ride to the semifinals. That way, it makes him look more dominant, because not only did he win his first round match in seven minutes, but now he will automatically make it to the semis, so who can possibly stop him? Sounds like a good promo. :D

I actually thought it was pretty cool that there was a draw because it's something that does happen sometimes in actual wrestling when tournaments are held, and it works better when it occurs in the first round. I just hope that is the only time it will happen in the tournament though.

It's too bad Sen doesn't post here anymore. His packs were the first packs I experienced playing, and they were great for their time. I'd love to see updates, but I'm quite satisfied with DJKM and DP's awesome edit packs.

Nope, just had a big cooling off period on wrestling as a whole, and got a bit burnt out in general. Didn't even boot up FPR for a long while, but I'm back now, and I WILL update this save sooner than later, probably within a month, although I'd like to do some research on a few more really old guys to put in to balance out the heavy focus on the '90s and early 2000's that the next update will feature.
