Mat Dickie's Wrestling Encore and Wrestling Mpire2008!

I've been playing his games for about a year now and was wondering if anybody here enjoys them/ plays them? He is an "indie" game maker and is now retired.... You can still buy his games which are very, very cheap (in price)! These are better than the SVR series in my opinion so I'd at least download the trial version. these are for the computer only and please, please, PLEASE, read the reccommendations for the directX and processor before playing as it may run horribly if you do not meet the requirements!

***NOTE!: This game IS moddable (legally)! My game has many, many mods on it so once you get it, do not be dissappointed/ surprised if it does not have half of the stuff in it. PM me for more info....

I'm pretty sure just about everyone here has heard about MDickie and Wrestling Encore/Mpire. I personally don't enjoy the games all that much. Pretty boring gameplay. The career mode is pretty neat though but the matches are just not entertaining enough to justify playing through that long of a career. I always thought they had potential and I followed the release of Mpire 2008 but theres just nothing that interesting about it.

Dickie's games would be fine if they didn't cost 15 dollars more than they are really worth.

Still, he has delusions of Shigeru Miyamoto and Hideo Kojima. It's like if Uwe Boll claimed to be the greatest film director ever that everyone follows the example of, or if Jeff Hardy claimed to be a good wrestler. The worst part is, since Dickie's book actually got published, AT LEAST one person was stupid enough to actually think he is a gaming superstar.

I did notice he thinks he's everything like you're saying though and that really annoys me! And one of the things he SAID that annoys me the most is "What can they expect?! I'm just one person!"

That right there says a lot about the man....

But we all have our opinions and I think one of his games turned out cool! If he got all that third party whatever so it could be for like the psp, it'd be better though!

Honestly if the man actually had a few good programmers and animators to help him he could actually turn out a decent game i mean he had a few great ideas. I don't get why it must be a one man effort. I guess hes just bad at making friends.

Well one thing I forgot to mention... he uses textures which makes it easily moddable. BUT, one of his shirt textures actually says "WORST GAME EVER".

That's in all of his wrestling games, lol. And on the back, it has an anti- MD logo.

IDK, I'm still stayin' strong with likin' encore though....

IMO, MDickie is wasting talent, especially if he's writing books and wants to teach people how to program video games. The whole "arrogance" thing probably turned a lot of people off of working with MDickie, but at the same time, it's a two way street, IMO. And it's a shame, because if I remember correctly, it took only four of five people to create Firepro, so why can't MDickie try to find a couple more people, and create an X-Box Live title that would put the current wrestling products to shame. Even at $10, an MDickie game would IMO make THQ wake up and get to work on their product.

When there's no competition, or the competition sucks, IMO, that's when everyone loses.

Come to think of it, promising a good wrestling video game could be the new "Nigerian Prince" scheme.
