Fan of the glitches

Postby Sharpshooter828 on Thu Jan 05, 2012 5:37 pm

Just thought of something my friends and I were talking about the other day...how the crazy glitches from Smackdown carried into WWE 12. I for one have gotten so used to them(sad in a way) that I love *some* of them. Not the ones that impact your game like some of the throphy glitches or freezing but the glitches were you whip someone to the ringside wall and they go into the crowd or even the twisted arms and chairs wrapped around a body part.

It is part of the games....charm...for lack of a better word. I could do without the chairs in mid air but someone going through the mat and to the floor is crazy fun sometimes.

I could do without elbow drops to standing opponents.

I like the glitches too. 2011's and WWE '12's are especially funny. They're rare occurances for me, but when they happen I always save the video. I remember in SVR 2007, Kane ripped the top rope off of one side of the ring during an Elimination Chamber match. Also, I threw a wrestler on that game into the sound system in the crowd, I belive it was Mr. Kennedy, and he became a skeleton! No joke. My sister seen it too. Well he looked more like a zombie, but part of his body was bones. The only glitches that I hate are the ones that mess up saves, or freeze glitches.

Or the poor collision detection on high flying moves in general.

Dont know how I never posted this one but it is a glitch/markout. I was playing a fourway table match with one oc my caws agianst a friend and his personal caw and two cpu opponents. I go up top and jump off for an elbowdrop through my friend laying on the table.....except i go THROUGH him break the table and he is laying in mid air

not only did I win the match but injuried him for a while as well.

i have no idea why the collision detection for aerial moves is so horrible this year

weapons collision couldn't be worse

and both of these were great in svr 11

I still don't know what you mean by that. Chair shots to the back were great in SvR '11?

For me, WWE '12 has almost passed up Showdown: Legends Of Wrestling as far as glitchy entertainment goes, but until I see something crazier than...

- Sabu starts spazzing out in the ring. The lights go out and Sabu is GONE never to be seen from again.
- Dusty Rhodes gets stuck upside down to a turnbuckle. Action stops.
- Mil Mascaras eliminates someone from a battle royal. He goes out on the apron, jumps off and tries to hit cross body block to person his just threw out effectively eliminating himself from the battle royal.

...Showdown will always be king.

SVR2011's flying detection sucked too. Dives to the outside in particular and dives when the opponent is down on his stomach are the top offenders.

EDIT- Table collision has some WTF moments (arm drags where the shin gets close to the table counts as that table breaking for example) and the announcers tables were retooled in a stupid way. There are lots of cool weapon bumps possible in SVR11 (Schwein off the ladder ONTO THE APRON, semi-glitched cutter from the top of the ladder ON the ladder stomach first, Power of the Punch with the opponent flying facefirst onto the steel steps, booting the opponent off the top rope through a table). But also a LOT of dumb ones.

IDK, beating someone half to death with a 32' TV (back in the day when TVs and steel steps weighed over 9000 pounds) was pretty brutal. Between that and the full on sledgehammer shots in Wrestlemania 2000, I always wondered why congress men and senators went after Mortal Kombat for violent content.

Kinda a shame, there never was a video game where you could chokeslam your opponent into a giant meat grinder. That would have been so hilarious and ridiculous on so many levels...But what am I complaining about, for every Postal, the industry gives us Saints Row...So it all ain't that bad, right?

Backyard Wrestling had an area where you could throw your opponent into a giant fan. So... kinda?

MadWorld on the wii had some gib-tastic stuff like throwing enemies into jet engine turbines. Kinda the same thing. 8)

No chokeslam, but I remember Eternal Champions had a stage fatality (excuse me, "overkill") involving a giant fan. The Sega CD ones had some even more gruesome ones.
