Heroes of History

Postby Senator on Mon Feb 18, 2008 12:55 am

Coming soon....

This fed will be, ahem, unique. The basic concept is a bit out there...ok, it's really out there, and goofy and all, but I know I'll have fun with it. It'll read as much like a piece of bad science fiction as it will a bit of bad wrestling writing. The political aspect of things, well, I'll try not to step too hard on peoples' toes, but do be warned that I'm a pretty conservative guy and a proud American. I just ask that you not turn my fed topic into a political battleground...(too late!) I'll divide this up into chapters, as it's really more beneficial that way.

(The story: Prologue)
The year is 23XX, and both technology and society have evolved a great deal since the turmoil of the early half of American history. The Smithsonian Project, using top secret technology has attempted to showcase the height of modern technological advances, as they bring back individuals from the past. The Smithsonian Project has proudly built a massive structure to house three former presidents of the country, allowing the public to view them in surroundings similar to their own times. However...something is about to go horribly wrong.

The Fighters!!
(Many more to come in time)

Theodore Roosevelt
Spoiler: show
Image
Finisher: The Bully Pulper(Sleeper Reverse Drop)
Fighting Style: TR was known for his fisticuffs in his earlier days, and primarily uses boxing style attacks. He also has an ample amount of Jiu Jitsu stuff, thanks to his having been tossed about quite a bit in the White House. Finally, Ol' Four Eyes also has a bit of the western brawler in him to round things off.

Abraham Lincoln
Spoiler: show
Image
Finisher: The Proclamation(Original Waterwheel Drop)
Fighting Style: Abe Lincoln is grapple centric, due to his background as a wrestler. Abe's the oldest guy currently on the pack, so I've tried to make him more of an old style wrestler. Abe, even in his later years, was known for his strength, so that was also taken into account, with moves like the military press and such.

Bill Clinton
Spoiler: show
Image
Finisher: Bubba Cutter(Diamond Cutter)
Fighting Style: Bill's come along quite a bit later than the other two debuting presidents, and thus, his style is more "advanced." He fights quite a bit more in what I consider to be a "'90s" style, using numerous cutter variations, and he also has a large amount of goofy Danshoku stuff. Clinton might be pretty entertaining to watch, and not quite as strong overall as the other two, but he's still well able to hold his own.

The Villians
Spoiler: show
Image
Adolf Hitler
Finisher: Zyklon B(Torture Cobra Twist)
Fighting Style: Vicious in the early stages of a match, but cowardly when he takes damage.

Spoiler: show
Image
Joseph Stalin
Finisher: Stalingrad Sweep(Arm Hold STO)
Fighting Style: Stalin is somewhere between his two top "comrades," in that he's one nasty opponent all the way through.

Spoiler: show
Image
Mao Zedong
Finisher: The Great Leap Forward(Jump Facebuster)
Fighting Style: Mao is cautious early on in a match, letting the opponents wear themselves out before he launches his attack.

Out of curiousity though... wouldn't "The Lewinsky" be a great name for Clinton's finisher?

Trust me, you'd be better off not knowing:)

I'll have a new update up later today or tomorrow, I think.

Also, just wondering, is there anyone out there who'd be willing to capture matches for me from time to time? I hate asking, and really should get my own capture device, but this wouldn't be as bad as it might seem, since I only will ask for one match per month at the most, and probably less than that.

This probably isnt the place to ask but how do you usually go about capturing, I'd be interesting in doing it if I have the stuff to do it, I have recorded from my camera but I havent really "captured". I Have a video camera and the chords to plug it to the tv is there something else I would need ?

Yeah I can help you out for that. 1 match a month is not a problem at all :)

Many thanks, Geese! Never let anyone say that the FPC is lacking in friendliness or helpful folks.

I've updated the first post with the initial profiles for the dictators, and should be starting with Chapter 1 pretty soon.

Just an update, I'm going to start on Chapter 1 next week, when I have enough time to put something decent together, and also clean up my pack enough for Geese to sim the first match.

I don't want to publically release this pack until a bit further down the road, partly to save some surprises...

Additionally, you might add Santa Ana, King George III, Napoleon, Jefferson Davis, Slobodan Milosevic, the Ayatollah, Kaiser Wilhem, Davy Crockett, William Henry Harrison, Tecumseh, Sitting Bull, Billy the Kid, Pat Garrett, John C. Fremont, Neil Armstrong, Yuri Gagarin, Francis Gary Powers, Nikita Kruschev, William H. Taft, Andrew Carnegie, JP Morgan, and so on.

This is a neat idea, and you readily get a lot of the stereotypes of pro wrestling involved by using historical figures.

In my mind that sounded like Peter Griffin when he rang off the list of failed Fox shows.

I think this fed needs a Federalist faction.

Spoiler: show
It could be like the nWo. They could do screwy things with the History-Tron with "Publius" video previews :) They have a brief period of dominance in the fed. But then Madison "turns" and becomes a Democratic-Republican with Jefferson. And the faction finally ends when Hamilton gets shot.

There are many periods of history that lend themselves well to pro wrestling storylines and early United States is no exception

Just imagining an nWo type shaky-cam video with lots of cuts sponsored by "Publius" cracks me up.

A pre-Revolution feud between Whigs and Torries would be hot ratings too :D

CHAPTER ONE

Entry #1
Bill Clinton: I really, really don't know how in the world I got here... I got plenty of space, but freedom, I'm lacking, it's like I've been imprisoned in some big facsimile of the White House, and I can't go outside... All I know, is that I'm living here in this big, crazy complex now, and that I feel like I'm in the prime of my youth. These people who put me here seem to have left me this little recording thing, all I have to do is speak, and it shows my words on this screen, guess that a good deal of time has gone by since the good ol' days, when I was the POTUS. You know, this thing here reminds me of the teleprompter I used to work with, and the time that it went out on me in the middle of that important speech...gotta hate it when my thoughts are trailing off like this...lots of windows, but I can't seem to look out of them...doors all are sealed shut,

Entry #2
Bill: Alright now, the aliens, future people, or whatever they are just opened up the windows, and it looks like I'm now a tourist attraction! It's like I'm on one of those reality shows or something, but I sure didn't agree to this! I look out there, and wow, all those "tourists" are wearing funny clothes! I saw an American flag on someone's shirt, so I think I'm still here in the States...but it's all so strange.

Entry #3
Bill: Ok, this is a bit much, whoever you mysterious captors are, you can stop displaying me in your zoo! I thought the impeachment hearings were bad, Ken Starr had nothing on you! I mean, I don't mind looking at the ladies that pass by, and some of them even wave back...I tried tapping on the glass, I tried throwing my paperweight through it, my chair through it(and I sure was able to throw that hard!), but everything bounced right off, like it was made of rubber. Let me out of here, if you have any human decency!

Entry #4
Bill: Now we're making progress! Some little trail of light on the floor directed me to the bottom floor, where a trap door was opened, so I'm going in...it's dark down here, and certainly less sterile than that place I was in before, I'm walking along this pathway, and...what?!? This has to be a joke!

As Bill Clinton continues walking down the hall, he enters a large conference room, where, seated at a round table, eating a meal, are none other than Theodore Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln...or at least, the most perfect impersonators of the former United States Presidents ever conceived.

TR: Hello, there! I hear you're the young'un out of our bunch!

Abe: It is my pleasure to meet you.

TR: From what I've been able to discertain, we've been brought back from our respective time periods, for who-knows-what reason by an American government project.

Bill: Wait...if you're speaking the truth, and if you're who you look like...

Abe: As far as I can tell, and this is very difficult for me to understand, as well, I am President Abraham Lincoln.

Bill: Yeah...so...

TR: I bet you wanted to know how I found that out! See, if you walk back over that way, you'd find a White House, from my time, that way, the facsimile of Mr. Lincoln's White House! H.G. Wells didn't have anything on these people!

Bill: Still, how the heck did you find out that stuff if nobody told you? You're the first people who's spoken to me in a week!

TR: Hah, they said they kept you uninformed the longest, since you'd be able to handle...

Bill: WHO?

TR: The Smithsonian Project, is what they call themselves...

Entry #5
Bill: This is too much, just too much, I've been ripped from what I considered to be my time by some Smithsonian Project, a government group in the future who has brought us Presidents back from the past by some unknown process. Their people have talked to both Presidents Lincoln and Roosevelt, but they didn't bother informing me! I don't appreciate that, you know. So then, where was I...yeah, the Smithsonian Project now is going to let us interact amongst ourselves, in these general quarters, and they'll only expect us to go back to our "natural environments" at a specified time. President Roosevelt said they're giving us a tour here soon of our quarters...and there they are.

The Smithsonian Agent walks into the room along with Abe and TR. The agent is wearing what appears to be a shielded helmet, and black attire.

Bill: Now then, how DID you do this?

Agent: Sir, you will not understand even if I tell you. If you would follow me, I will show all three of you the area you will now be calling home.

Bill: I know this might be somewhat of a novel approach for you future people, but how’s about giving us our freedom sound?

Agent: In due time, we will allow you out into the society as a whole. However, before then, we feel the need to orient you to the time you now live in.

The four people walk around the area, finding eating quarters, their living spaces, a curiously small library area, and finally, a workout zone, centered in the largest room seen yet.

TR: A boxing ring! Bully!

TR: Abe, you used to wrestle, didn't you?

Abe: Excuse me, but I hardly believe this is an appropriate situation for such activity. Perhaps if you wish to test my strength at a later date, I would...

TR: You're yellow, aren't you?

Abe: Now, I have been called quite a few things by quite a few people...but I never was one to turn down a challenge!

Bill: Uh, what are you guys doing?

Agent: If you wish, I will arbitrate this situation...
