PS3 wireless assistance

Postby Indigo on Mon Jun 28, 2010 9:41 pm

Lat week, I was playing Red Dead Redemption and I got a message saying that I lost the access point. I've been unable to download software updates or go online ever since. I was using the linksys option to go online. Now whenever I try to go online or download a software update I get a message saying DNS error is preventing me from doing so.

Any and all help is appreciated.

Is wireless working for everything else at your place?

If so, try reconfiguring your wireless connection on the ps3.

The only other device in my house that has is wireless is my computer (which runs just fine with wireless settings).

What should I try reconfiguring (ie whether or not proxy server is enabled)?

Are you using a proxy for your router?

I recommend setting up a specific IP address for the DMZ of your router. Then manually assign the IP in connection settings.

Not using a proxy, just using linksys as my IP/network.

Ok. For linksys, the DMZ setting is within the Applications & Gaming section.

Switched to a D-Link router, but every time I try to connect I get an error saying "Connectivity Timeout" and I'm unable to access the IP address (192.168.0.1)
