I ask because your post makes it seem like you were disapointed in the Misawa/Roderick Strong match rating and wanted to change the logic solely for that purpose.
well
... I would say I'm about 75% concerned with simming accurate matches and 25% concerned with the match rating.
...
I can't really go 100% based on trying to simulate real life. It just would not work (imo) in this type of game. If I created John Morrison as realistically as possible he would have terrible ranked matches 90% of the time (due to the insane difficulty of ending a match with a corner finisher). I have to make compromises sometimes.
...
Some people might not like the way I do logic but I'm willing to support everything I have done (I spent a lot of time working through the logic). I'm sure it's not perfect so if anyone has any ideas it would be appreciated.
Yeah, that's probably not going to be a popular decision on your part. But hey, it's your hack and you're the one who has to do the work, so...
I think (hope) that most people would be fine with how the edits work.
Showman style is really the only style that there is an issue with. Lucha, Strong, and Kings Road are fine (decent match ratings and nice looking matches).
Showman is just terrible unless I am totally missing something. If you want a really high rating you need to hit a bunch of specials (not too much of a problem) and finish the match with a taunt and your finisher (can be a problem).
Ending with a sub (even a finisher) is not great for showman
Count outs hurt sometimes
tag mathces are just a nut buster to get right
but I think I was talking about this in another post that most showman cards in MOR should be okay when you compare it to real life. You might have a couple of mathces in the 70's, a couple in the 80's, and (I hope) 1-2 in the 90's. If you figure out who works well together or try American rules you might even do better.
but you can always try different styles when running a showman group.
Lucha for an x division match
Kings or Stron for a tag match
idk
I will keep looking into showman style but without priorities, I'm not sure what else can be done.
