Scoops was the only site I ever gave a crap about. Chris Hyatt's Monday night recaps were almost as much fun as the Monday night war itself.
I gave up on internet wrestling news just because it's so uninformed--both the opinions and the news itself. American pro wrestling will never have an equivalent to a sports media--they just don't have the culture of granting "reporters" (or whatever you want to call them) official access. Holdover from the days of everything being kayfabe, I guess. The result is rumor-based reporting and an echo-chamber of meaningless opinions where people come to accept it as a given fact that, for example, the Undertaker sucks, even though he's one of the most respected wrestlers ever AMONG WRESTLERS. I think what made me the angriest was when there was a confluence of these two factors, i.e., rumors that were clearly spawned out of unfounded spite towards a popular wrestler or promotion.
I've got a buddy that watches the sites. When there's a rumor worth knowing (or not worth knowing), he always lets me know about it. Good enough for me.
Nay, the true meaning of Alvis Day is drinking. Drinking and revenge.
