I don't know the specs of the iPhone vs. the GBA but I gotta imagine the iPhone is stronger in most ways and GBA can run Fire Pro.

Would be really cool to have portable simming on the phone 8)

If you jailbreak your iPhone, you can run Fire Pro on the Gameboy Advance emulator, Super Fire Pro on the Snes emulator, and Fire Pro G on the Playstation emulator. There is a little bit of slowdown on Fire Pro G, but if you turn the match speed up to 200% it's perfect. I was even able to get the Monday Night Wars save to convert and work on it. Having the ability to sim Fire Pro in my pocket is awesome.

How does it play? I'm jailbroke, maybe it's time to hunt down a ROM.

I don't play matches, I sim them. So my fingers getting in the way isn't an issue.

Made a quick video to show how it runs. The quality is crap because I only had a shitty digital camera handy. But it will give you an idea on the framerate and how smooth it plays. Game speed is set at 200%. While you're watching, keep in mind that in person it looks like the screenshot I posted earlier. Also, the audio chugs, so I always just load up the game with no sound.

Works for android as well.

I run the gba version w/the cactus j00 mods to it.

Newer androids can run the ps1 emulator and firepro g.

I have an Android now, so maybe I should download it so I can play Fire Pro while I'm pooping. 8)

Once I finish game design school, I want to try and make, or at least inspire SOMEONE to make a quality wrestling game. It seems though that if there isn't any licensed and recognizable wrestlers in the game, it's not gonna sell well. Even then, the TNA and AAA games didn't do well either. I mean they were terrible, but still. I think that a downloadable FP game could easily be a great alternative. Even if they re animate everything and put it in HD it could be great. With the trend created by Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo, the HD remakes are great sellers. But it all comes back to the fact that if Randy Orton and John Cena aren't in the game, few newbies will probably try it.

It's not a fact. There's a ton of people who'd buy a wrestling game, licensed or not, as long as the game either A.) looked good or B.) got super awesome reviews.

People will buy an unlicensed wrestling game if it is great. Look at Fire Pro.

We have to be given the tools to make the roster of our dreams, though.

I'd say the main problem with Fire Pro HD is that the higher definition you get, the harder it's going to be to make edits look like the person you're going for. Don't believe me, make an FPW edit on your GBA, there will be a TON of faces that are close enough for most guys that they could be used. Jump up even to FPR and the selection shrinks, simply because you can see more clearly that it's not the same style of facial hair, or eyes, or whatever. Jumps into something like WWE12 and you're gonna have a much harder time finding options that go with the person you're making.

At least, that's how I feel.

This could be fixed by giving us tons of layering options to take features from one face and put them on another. There are lots of heads that look half perfect for certain guys, so you have to decide if you like the top half of this head or the bottom half of the other head.

If I got Fire Pro Wrestling to work on my iPhone, Sears would fire me within a week.

I crave another Fire Pro game, or at least a re-release on the Playstation Network or the PC. Anything that would allow me to download saves again. I am the absolute dirt worst at setting logic and getting the right colors on my edits.

If Spike were to release a new HD version of Fire Pro, I think they should encourage the community to create as many videos as possible of great edits of current and past stars so that they can capitalize on as many wrestling fans as possible. My little brother thinks that the graphics suck when he sees me playing, but when I show him videos online with all of his favorites he loves it.

Younger people tend to hate the Fire Pro graphics because they didn't grow up in the NES/Genesis/SNES generation like most of us did and they grew up spoiled with the 720 P/1080 P style resolution for all of the current games.

If your brother thinks FPR is bad have him play a WWF or WCW game for the SNES and then see what he says.
